new bears, and my worlds collide

I'm working on a new group of toys for my Etsy shop now. Usually I've just added a few items here and there but this year I'm working on a larger group that I'll add all at once sometime in November.

A preview of my art show got written up in a local publication called the City Pages. It's a strange bit of writing in which the author refers to my Etsy shop and the toys I make and not really at all to the fine art work that I do and that will obviously be in the show. It's probably just the result of a very quick bit of research involving a Google search on my name and I suppose it serves me right...after all this blog is a mash up of all the disparate aspects of my life/ career. I'm trying to let it go as I feel like there my be more press (both for the art and the crafts) in the near future and I don't have any control over any of it right?

My new friend Jennifer Davis made a blog just for our upcoming exhibit. you can go there for some sneak peaks of our work. The show is called Flourish and will feature new works by Jennifer Davis, Erika Olson Gross, Terrence Payne and Joe Sinness.

aaaaaand done!

Ta-da! I'm done with my drawings for my show! Well, I think I am at least. It feels rather anti-climactic. I think I've just been looking at these drawings way too long...I don't know how I feel about them anymore. The next step is having them photographed and framed and it will be so nice to have them out of my hands. I got to see some of the work by the three other artists I'll be showing with and that got me very excited about this exhibition. I'll show you their work soon too.

It's going to be a bit of an out-of-the-frying-pan-into-the-fire situation for me around here. I also have another show to install and I'm going to try to make as much Christmas Cuteness for my Etsy shop as I possibly can this holiday season. And last but certainly not least I have a baby shower to get ready for! My lovely sister is having her first baby and I'm pretty much out of my mind excited about it. She is adding a new member to the Boy's Club!

I'm crazy busy finishing up the drawings for my upcoming exhibition and getting ready for the start of a new school year. I have so many things I've been wanting to post but there is just not enough time!
